New Items - xmas pressies

These are some xmas pressie's I just finished up last night. My picture taking skills are getting a little better. I learned a lot on this round of photos. I need to readjust a few things on my "photo lab set up", once I get everything redone I'll post about it.

In the meantime.....

This is a basket weave (klew design) and floral cuff bracelet.

This is a blue swirl on square velum pendant with a heart shaped peek a boo key.

A multi - element blue swirl pendant.

A clip on flash light.

A hidden compartment emergency whistle and key chain. The triangle cane was made by Kathi.

An art doll wind chime. I LOVE her feet!!

And a cute little piggy bank!

New Studio space!!!

These are shots of my (EMPTY!!! ) new studio. This is looking east, towards the front of the house. This is the entrance door leading out to the hallway. I'll put a new-to-the-studio bookcase on that portion of the wall behind the door and next to the window. I've run out of places to store my book's and magazines thus, the need for more book case storage! Perhaps there needs to be some weeding of the mags??? Ak!!!

Empty room, yes... but smelling oh-so-clean of freshly shampooed carpet!

These sports hats of Nancy's won't be staying.

I'll probably set up my sewing machine and fabric stash in this area. (That's the door leading to the hallway.)

Yeah... that's Dilly's dog crate, not positive yet where her "room" will end up in the new upstairs layout. Probably in the dressing room??

This is looking west, towards the back of the house. In the first picture I was standing in this doorway, it leads into our new bedroom. I'll put a large shelf cabinet here with the VCR and television on it. It'll be on a swivel stand so we can watch TV from the bed if we so choose. This doorway will be blocked by this cabinet and the TV.

That concludes todays little tour of the new studio - as I set it up!

Recently on Drew Street.

It's been a busy past few days...

Nancy took this week off so we can work on fixing this place up.

The master plan is to move our bedroom into the room Patty used as her bedroom (she moved back to Portland last fall to be closer to family again) we'll keep the middle room as our "dressing room" - there's no closets to speak of in this house so we have had to use one of the rooms upstairs as a closet, it houses our dressers and my vanity.

My studio will be moved back upstairs, into the small front room (that I had it in when we first moved into this house) and the big electrical things - my kiln and buffer and tumbler - will go down in the cellar. We had the electrical updated on the first floor and cellar, so those "big things" will be down where the electricity can handle them.

Our old bedroom will become a new living room with a small area to the side that'll have a table and such set up for when we have poker and cribbage night.

Then, the living room downstairs and my "old" studio will be open for Mom's stuff. Yep, you read that right. My mother's stuff. It's time. I'm very concerned about her living alone. She is legally blind and she has fallen a couple of times. Also she just can't see well enough to do little things that, to a fully sighted person, is nothing, like plugging a lamp in that has become unplugged for whatever reason, changing the batteries in her remote, and any other of the 100's of reasons I have to drive up to her place (a 2o minute ride!) to rescue her from one thing or another!

We'll set up her living room in the front room and her bedroom in my old studio. We'll still eat in the dining room and I'll do the cooking, as always. She goes to bed pretty early so we'll have the upstairs living room for ourselves.

So, the painting involves our new bedroom, the dressing room, the new upstairs living room and we'll also paint the downstairs living room. I'm still working on the downstairs bathroom and at some point we'll do something with the kitchen too. This "master plan" is in preparation for the market to turn... fixing the house up while waiting for the pendulum to swing back. *g* Because, after the economy gets "righted" we will sell this place and move to the Southwest! YAY!

So, Friday Nancy took as a vacation day too. We did some errands and grocery shopped, that evening "D" came over and played cribbage.

Saturday Nancy worked on the new bedroom, taping, cutting in, rolling the walls etc...

In the afternoon I went back to work for the first time since my surgery! YAY! I worked from 10AM to 2PM. It was fine, I just straightened aisles and did customer service. I go again next Saturday from 12 to 4PM.

Sunday morning I organized, weeded out and emptied the dressing room.

Nancy mowed the back yard.

Then in the afternoon we went for a motorcycle ride - 73 miles round trip! It was GORGEOUS!! The lilacs are in bloom everywhere and we sniffed deeply every time we went past a bunch!! YUM!!

Monday morning was spent doing some more yard work. These two bushes were transplanted (by Nancy) from the front to the driveway side of the house.

And these, the Bleeding Heart and -- I can't remember what it's called! AK!! -- Nancy moved into the bed across the front.

In the meantime, I finished planting my tomatoes in the bed right off the deck. Not an easy task with one arm! LOL!!

In the afternoon we got back to painting.

And today, Tuesday we finished up in the bedroom. Well, almost. I still have to go back and do the details of the crown molding and the windows, but I have a couple appointments as well as Mom's year and a half out check up at the cancer center and believe me, I NEED a rest! My shoulder hurts and needs a rest.

Here's Nancy's beautiful floor!
P1010603P1010604

And a shot of the 3 colors... mocha walls, latte for the the trim, and dark chocolate pudding on the floor! See? The crown molding and details on the windows still needs finishing.. I'll get to that.
P1010605
The dressing room will have these same colors except there's creamy gray carpeting on that floor as well as in the new living room.

To top today off, the roofers came! They worked all day and almost got everything done! It started raining right at the end of the day and they had to knock off early. This new roof will stop those nasty leaks we had last winter! Shewt!

New pics - shoulder PT

I have been working on setting and resetting my stores, PayPal, Etsy and eCrater. I made a Flickr badge with the new pics and I'll be adding all the items to my store, eventually.

I have PT on my shoulder today and I'm really pleased at how well it's been feeling! Anxious to get rid of the sling, but that won't happen for another 3 weeks! Ak! *smile*

Just thought I'd share my works in progress today. *G*

This afternoon I plan on taking more finished work photo's out on the deck. Yesterday I got all of 3 finished and my batteries died! Simply MUST get more rechargeables!! Arrggghh!!

New Pictures

Well, this afternoon I plan on bringing all my finished salable items out onto the loverly, warm and sunny back deck (of Ice Out fame). Then I'll take brand new pictures of them all with the new camera we got for Xmas, I've been diligently working on getting better and better at taking pictures with it! I'll soon be in the process of resetting my Etsy store and my PayPal store (in the sidebar) and setting up my new eCrater store, which happens to be powered by Google!

So... yay for bright sunny days!

Sure sign of spring - IN MAINE!!!!

OMG!!!

Spring is here!! It was just a couple of weeks ago that we were having the ice out of Mt P guessing contest and here is the first small lilac bud on our wee tree!!

lilacs

Lilacs are my favorite flower! I love the smell of them!! *sigh* A co worker of Nancy's gave her a couple twigs from her bush about 3 years ago. Last year we had two very small flower clusters that came late in the season and this year we already have at least 4 flower cluster buds!!

On our first outing, Nancy cut me a bouquet of lilacs!! *swoon*

Now if the weather will just warm up a wee bit so I can sit out on the deck and convalesce my shoulder some!

Complex Cane Swap

I joined Linda Weeks geometric cane swap a few months back and this was the results of my swap bootee! I think they came out rather nice. I have yet to complete them, but they are all sanded and shined up nicely with those lovely 3M polishing papers that Jana Roberts Benzon turned me on to!! I have been polishing these over the last few days, holding one arm still and not using the muscles in that arm was a challenge!! Self to shoulder: heal quickly!!

P1010419

A couple hidden compartment key chains from Larry over at Boston Clayworks. Some pendant and watch face components from Lisa over at Covered in Clay. And an empty Altoids tin.

P1010423

The pendants which will soon have wire wrapped bead dangles added to the loops and then strung, prolly on some leather.

P1010421

The empty watch face component. I didn't think I cared for this cane, until I put it together and placed it over a dome of clay pressed into the face opening. There's a rather large crack that I have to figure out how to repair... any thoughts?? I hope I can effect a good repair because I really like this and can easily see it strung on multiple strands of seed beads - perhaps in blues??

P1010418

I like the two key chains also; the retro one is my favorite.

P1010417

The lower right cab will be wire wrapped (there's two channels running through the silver bezel frame) onto silver wire with complimenting seed beads and then strung on silver chain with more seed bead wrapped components - prolly choker length.

The three silver triangle bezels will prolly be strung simply on some colored leather cording.

Here's the latest picture of ICE OUT on Mt P.

I took these two pictures yesterday morning. There's been some melting since the last pics I took, but nothing significant really yet.

The local weather forecast for this week is temps in the 50's. YAY!!

Good luck everyone!
