Ryan Playing With Nero

Friday, we had Ryan sleep over. He LOVED playing with our little dog Nero. Nero is a VERY busy little black bastard (as Nancy endearingly ;) calls him) who never stops! Well, Ryan wore his little black butt out!! I NEVER thought I'd see the day when Nero was too tired to play fetch - with whatever happened to be laying around. (They are playing with a popped blow up ball!!) He is something, my little dog, but Ryan is TRULY something! We adore him!!

Thankfulness

I am thankful this year for many things, not the least of which are:

  • FINALLY having a part time job and an awesome boss who is willing to work with me on all the time off I've needed in this past year due to shoulder surgery, this latest emergency surgery as well as my upcoming knee replacement.
  • Having this wonderful ol' house to keep us warm and sheltered, despite the fact that it is an old house and needs lots of tender loving care; read: expensive at times! It has just about everything we need and it's full of good times, good memories, good food, and good folks! It also is the investment that is our future! (Southwest - here we come!)
  • Mom. Her health and attitude are better now that she is here with us. This is not to say that it isn't trying at times with her here, but my stress levels are much lower now that I don't have to worry about her being alone.
  • Our pets. Nero the dog, Henry and Twink the cats, Harriet and Hermione the hermit crabs and the fish. They all bring us joy and unconditional love.
  • My creative outlets. They calm and relax me.
And last but certainly not least...
  • My WONDERFUL partner, Nancy who has stood by me, being a rock, encouraging and supporting me during all these health issues. She is just simply the best thing that has EVER happened to me! I love her dearly, however I doubt she really has any idea how MUCH she truly means to me! Simple words cannot describe what she means to me. She is my everything!
Happy holiday to everyone!!

Dilly dawg

We had to put Dilly down a couple of months ago.... there's been a HUGE hole in the house ever since.

*sniff*

She'd been feeling poorly ever since last winter when she got those awful hook worms. She lost a TON of weight and her skin allergies got so bad. She was just so uncomfortable. We tried everything to relieve her discomfort and nothing worked. There were other things going with her too, she was just not not her lovable self....

After some agonizing discussions with each other, the Vet and some friends, we decided it was time.

VERY hard thing to do.

Wait for us by the bridge Dilly-do... we'll see you again.

Painting - again!

I'll bet you are tired of seeing all these painting of the room(s) posts! I know I'm tired of writing them! But.... at the same time I'm enjoying doing them (the rooms) and writing about them!

Nero
Here is my lil' black doggie, Nero. He is so black it's difficult to get a good shot of him. He is either so shiny you can't see details, or he is so black you can't see his details!

helpers
Frick and frack!

trim
Cutting in the trim around the floor.

details
I'm using a straight edge to cut in around the carpeting. It's getting mixed results. I'm just not happy with how it looks and will prolly have to go around again with a small brush, an artists brush even. Anyone have any tips on doing this easier?? BTW, I painted out that register - the dark forest green just looked horrible, so it's now trim color.

dilly
Dilly - dawg is just EXHAUSTED from her morning of supervising the paint crew!
